Sunday SchoolCurriculumAges 3-5, Kindergarten, Grade 1, Grades 4-6 Learning God's Word"Let my people go! Let my people go!" What person has not heard the message that God delivered to the great pharaoh of Egypt through God's servant Moses? This quarter the children will be hearing the stories of Miriam, Moses, Aaron, Joshua, and others whom God worked through to free the people of Israel from slavery. They will hear how God guided the people through the wilderness and how, during that time, the people became God's people. As the children hear the stories, they will learn that God leads persons today to trust God's guidance, to work for the well-being of all people, and to live together in peace. Living God's WordThrough these great stories of the Old Testament, the children will learn that God wants all people to be free and to be treated with respect, justice, and kindness. They will recognize that God called ordinary people to perform extraordinary tasks, but through it all God was with the people. As the children learn about those people who answered God's call, they will see that they too are called by God and can respond, just as people in Bible times did. Old South |
