Seasons of Celebration

Led by Rev. Notis "Seasons of Celebration" is a Bible Study based on the texts of our Revised Common Lectionary. The lectionary is a schedule of scripture readings that nearly all churches, both Protestant and Roman Catholic, use for their Sunday morning readings. In this study we will explore the Christian Calendar and the lessons that are associated with Holy Days. We will spend time studying the scripture lessons that we will be using on Sunday, helping us to get more out of worship and to reflect more deeply on our worship experience. And if you happen to attend our first service you even have the chance to ask the preacher, "how'd you get that out of the text?"

"Seasons of Celebration" is a different kind of Bible Study that will help you see the Bible as the book of the community, meant to be read publicly and understood in community with others.

Group Leader: Rev. Steve Notis

Rev. Notis is Senior Pastor at Old South UMC. He has a master's degree from Boston University School of Theology and a doctoral degree from Bangor Theological Seminary. He loves to teach and lead small group discussions.
